The Dwarf Birch is a spreading Subshrub, and varies from 1ft (0.3m) to 4ft (1.2m) in height. Dwarf Birch can be found in the following Canadian provinces: Alta., B.C., Man., N.W.T., Sask., Yukon, and in the U.S.A., in the state of Alaska. This species is also present in Siberia, North Asia.
Dwarf Birch is suited for wet areas that do not dry out frequently and is naturally found in wet tundra areas and margins of bogs, terraces and open slopes of the above mentioned regions.
